Captain Justice Stories

Issue 2 chapter 3
Training Continues.

The two flew around until they found a giant boulder. "Alright, try to move this."
Seraph walked over and pushed against it. It didn't budge. Surprised, Seraph tried again. He then began pushing harder and began making it slowly slide across the ground. Seraph walked forward a couple feet before stopping. He was breathing hard.
(I thought so. Well, that was a 100 ton boulder. Still, it's impressive that he could move it at all at such a young age.)
"Alright, let's take a break for awhile."

The two sat on the cliffside, enjoying the magnificent view of the mountains.

"Sir?"
"Yeah?"
"How long have you been a superhero?"
"Hmm, well I guess this year will mark year 103 for me."
"You're 103?"
"Yeah. I just age a little slower then normal humans do. Physically, I'm in my fourties."
 "Wow."
"Yeah, I got started a long time ago and I haven't looked back."
"You must be the oldest man in the world."
Freedom Eagle got a laugh out of that. "Nah, that would be either Patriot or Keres."
"Who's Keres?"
"A friend of mine. He's an immortal."
"Immortal?"
"It means that he can't age or die."
"Wow, that must be so cool."
"Yes, I am certain that it is."
"What about Patriot?"
"Eternal Youth. He doesn't age."
"Oh."
"Anyway, up for some more training? Let's do H2H Combat now."
"H2H?"
"Oh, sorry, it means hand-to-hand, martial arts."
"Okay!" Justice Lad flew up and got ready to train.
Freedom held up his hands, palms facing Justice.
"Hit my palms, hard as you can and follow my instructions."
"Okay."
"Alright...Right Punch!"
Justice Lad did as he asked and punched his palm as hard as he could with his right hand. There was a loud  *SMACK!* but Freedom's hand didn't move at all. "Good. Left Punch!"
Justice Lad punched and the same result.
"Woah....that's incredible!"
"You have some real power behind your hits kiddo." Freedom complimented. "Again!"
"Okay!"
"Left! Right! Left! Right! Left! Right!"
This kept up for an hour before Freedom had him switch to kicks for an hour before going to back to punches and started shouting his commands faster and Justice Lad had to keep up.
By the end of the day, they had moved onto combinations and Justice Lad had learned to throw fast punches and kicks and they had worked in some flight training as well.

The Dragonhowl's heard a knock on their door and Freedom walked in holding a tired Seraph.
"The training went very well. He's a fast learner. I'll see you next week." Freedom Eagle handed Seraph to them and flew off.

The Dragonhowl's waved goodbye to him and carried their son to his bedroom.

Captain Justice Stories

Issue 2 Chapter 2
Training Begins

Seraph woke up, ate, got dressed, packed and waited by the door for Freedom's Eagle to show up so he could begin training. His father was reading the newspaper. There was an article about the child genius Marnie Montgomery. Seraph could read it from across the room. Apparently she had given her android some upgrades and it was now able to understand and translate foreign languages after hearing them for a few minutes. Seraph made a mental note to see if he could meet her later.

There was a knock at the door and Bob let Freedom's Eagle in.

"Ready to go Seraph?"

Seraph nodded and flew over to him. "You bet!"

"Glad to hear it." Freedom's Eagle said. "Don't worry, he'll be home by tonight."

Seraphina and Heman nodded. "Goodbye, have fun Seraph!"

Seraph waved goodbye and they walked out. "So when does my training begin?"

"Right now actually." Freedom's Eagle said and flew up into the air. "Keep up with me."
"But you're......" Eagle held up a hand. "Don't worry, I'll go slow today."
"Oh.....okay." Seraph said and flew up into the air.
"Alright. Go." With that, they were off and flying in the air. Eagle was flying with ease and even turned around to look at him with his arms crossed as Seraph did his best to keep up. "That's it Seraph. Don't try to force your speed all at once, let it build up gradually."
"Okay..." Seraph focused on Eagle and began slowly accelerating. He felt the wind whooshing around him as he began moving up to 40-50-60 MPH. Eagle smiled. "There you go." He then flew to the side. "Let's work on navigation. Follow my path." Seraph had trouble stopping and continued forward for several feet before he came to a stop. He then spotted Eagle and flew over to him. Eagle flew upwards diagonally and Seraph had to change course to follow him. They continued flight training for two hours, working on speed, navigating and flight combat. Seraph had trouble with that. The idea was to attack Eagle. Seraph quickly found that his ramming tactic wasn't working. Eagle would simply fly over or under or to the sides, so Seraph had to adjust his tactics and try to anticipate where Eagle would go. They also worked in punches and kicks. As they flew over a scrapyard, Eagle motioned for Seraph to follow him.

The two touched down and Seraph walked around with Eagle. They soon discovered a 30 ton reefer truck. "Alright, this will work. Seraph, try to lift this."
"What? B-but it's huge!"
"So was the armored suit you fought and you were able to knock that thing around just fine. Think of the truck as a smaller version of the suit."
"Oh. Okay." Seraph walked over to the truck and got under it and then stood up. It was shaky at first but he managed to lift it up with ease. "I did it!"
"Strong as I expected. Alright, let's go find something else for you to lift." He said as they flew off.

Captain Justice Stories

Issue 2 Chapter 1
Freedom's Eagle
The next day, Seraph woke up early and walked to the kitchen to find his breakfast already made. Toast, ham, eggs and biscuits. There was a glass of orange juice by the plate and the silverware was already out. "Good morning master Seraph." Bob said. "We made you breakfast." Cyrill said. "Oh, wow...thanks." Seraph began eating, starting with the ham. "Say, this is really good."
"Why thank you Master Seraph. We took care in making it taste the best for you. You deserve it."
Seraph nodded and ate up, finishing all of the food in no time. As a side effect of his alien biology, he ate a lot more then a normal boy his age. He then downed the juice. "Ahhhhh, breakfast was excellent. You two should cook more often."
"Thank you for such kind words." The two bowed.
After Cyrill washed the dishes, Bob knelt down to Seraph. "Now then, would you like to go see the others? I'm sure that your parents are all better now."
Seraph nodded. "Yes, let's go!" He ran to the door and began flying.
"Er, we meant to take the car young master!" Cyrill called after him.
Bob chuckled. "Such enthusiasm."

Arriving at the hospital, they were delighted to see that the Dragonhowl's and the other workers there had recovered completely. "MOTHER! FATHER!" Seraph jumped over to them and hugged his parents. They held their son tightly. "You're all better now!" Seraph declared. "That's right. The doctor's worked on us and fixed us up completely." His mother summed up. "We also heard about you defeating the giant. I must say, I am very impressed son." Heman added.
"B-but......but you got hurt because of me!"
"No son. The villain who was piloting that monstrosity was the one who harmed us. We came out to help knowing the risks." His father explained. "Also...."
He stood up as the rest of the household came out to greet Seraph. "We would all do it again if it meant protecting you."
"EVERYONE!" Seraph flew around the hospital lobby and hugged and shook their hands.
Heman and Seraphina turned their attention to Bob and Cyrill. "Thank you for looking after our son." "Thank you very much."
"Think nothing of it." Bob said.

After singing out and taking care of things, The Dragonhowl's called some extra cars and were driven home.

Arriving home, they took Seraph aside for a talk. "Now Seraph, we are proud of you, don't get us wrong, but....." "But you must understand how terrifying it is for us to see when you are out fighting a monster like that." "Therefore, you will do no super villain or monster fighting until you are of proper age and complete your training here. Understand?"

"Yes mother, yes father, that giant was pretty scary anyway."

"Good. Now then, get some rest. We are going to help with preparations."

"Preparations?"

"For your victory party of course."

"WOW! Thanks!"

"You earned it son."

A few hours later, Seraph was called downstairs to find a massive party had begun with food and drink and pastries. "Ohhhhhh wow, all this for me?" Seraph asked. "That's right son. This is your victory party, enjoy!" The household clapped and cheered for him. "Alright!" Seraph flew over and began enjoying the food and drinks.

In the middle of the party, there was a buzz at the gate. One of the butler's pressed a button. "Hello?"

"Hello, I am Freedom's Eagle, I am here to see the young Justice Lad."

The butler pressed a button to turn on a camera. It was indeed the famous superhero. "Yes....please....come in!" He got the door and let him in. Soon after, they made their way to the party.

"Excuse me, Master Heman, Lady Seraphina, we have a guest."

"What? This is my son's party, who could be....." He trailed off and was stunned silent when they all saw the superhero Freedom's Eagle. Seraph was ecstatic. "OH MY GOD! It's you! You're Freedom's Eagle! Hi, I'm Seraph, I'm a fan!" He said and flew up to him. Freedom's Eagle smiled and shook his hand. "Hello there Seraph, I saw your fight on the news. That was impressive for a boy your age." He said and shook his hand. He then turned to Heman and Seraphina. "So you're his parents? You have raised a fine boy."
"Well.....thank you. Thank you very much Mister Freedom's Eagle, but, if I may ask, what are you here for?"
"That's very simple. I would like to train him."

A short time later, they were sitting in the living room and having tea. "So you see, it would only be on a weekly basis. That way he can rest up between training sessions." Freedom's Eagle said.

"A good idea, what do you think son?" Heman asked.

"SURE!" Seraph declared.

"Well that settles that." Seraphina said.

"Alright, your training will begin tomorrow." Freedom's Eagle said. "I'll see you then Seraph."

"See you!" Seraph waved to him as Eagle walked outside and flew off.

Captain Justice Stories

Issue 1 Chapter 5
Aftermath

The swat team, police and an ambulance arrived soon after the fact and took everyone to a hospital. Seraph was already healing by the time he arrived at the hospital but the process was slow. A doctor tried to put a needle in him but it broke against his skin. His parents otoh had mild concussions on top of their other injuries, so they would need to stay at the hospital for awhile.
Seraph sat by his parent's beds. "This is all my fault. I never should have gone out to fight. I should have just did what they told me to do."
Bob, a butler to the Dragonhowl's and one who had been fortunate enough to only get mild injuries from the explosion, put his hand on Seraph's shoulder. "Master Seraph, if I may, you did save the entire city. We all knew the risk when we came out to help you. If your parents were awake right now, I know they would be proud of you." Seraph turned and looked at him. "B-but....Bob....." He grabbed onto his butler and sobbed. Bob held the young man close to him as Cyrille, a maid to the Dragonhowl's walked in. She saw the distress on Seraph's face and tried to improve his mood. "Don't worry young master. I'm sure that they'll recover. Paradise City is famous for it's medical technology. They will fix your parents in no time." Seraph looked up at her. "R-really? They can fix everyone?" "Yes, young master, everything will be fine." Seraph smiled happily. "You hear that mom and dad? You're gonna be just fine!" He exclaimed. "The doctor's are going to fix you up and you'll be all better."
A doctor came in. "Alright, you're all free to leave. We'll contact you if there's any change."

Bob and Cyrille nodded. "Come along young master. Let's go home."
"Right!" Seraph said and followed them out. "I'll be back tomorrow mom and dad!"

Upon exiting the hospital, they found a massive crowd there. All cheering for the boy who had saved the city. "Justice Lad! Justice Lad! Justice Lad" They all cheered for and thanked him. He waved shyly to everyone.

The three headed home while the doctor's worked to heal everyone.

Arriving home, Seraph looked around. "It seems so empty...."

"I'm sure that it will be filled up again soon. Is there anything you would like master Seraph?" Bob asked.

"I-I want to go lie down." He said.

Cyrill followed Seraph to his room and tucked him into bed. He quickly fell asleep.

The maid and butler sat in the living room in silence. "Poor child. He fought so hard......he should be celebrating right now. Instead...he comes home to an empty house." Cyrill said solemly. "It's not fair."

"This is the risk we took going out there to save him." Bob said. "The life of a superhero isn't always glamorous after all. There are risks."

"I know......I know....but...." Cyrill hugged Bob.

"There there dear. You'll see, everything will be fine."

Elsewhere.....

Bellatrix Lugosi Insidious was lying on her bed, flipping through channels on the tv as she thought about what to do for her science project. All of the other children would be doing volcanoes, or planets or animals. A few would be doing something about atoms/molecules/energy. She wanted to do something big. Something that would blow everyone away. She had settled on a robot, but she couldn't settle on just what she wanted to do with said robot or even what she wanted to do with it or how it should look. She got her answer when she caught a news report about a child hero fighting it out with a giant mecha. Bellatrix sat up straight and looked at the footage. She smiled. The remnants of the robot suit were going to be taken to the Paradise City police station. An easy in. Bellatrix turned off the tv, got up off the bed and walked to her desk. Opening up a notebook, she began writing down her plans to get in and out of the police station with the suit. It was trashed, sure, but that didn't mean she couldn't fix and improve it.

Captain Jutice Stories

Issue 1 Chapter 4
Justice Lad vs The Metal Giant

"HE DID WHAT?!" Heman Dragonhowl demanded.
"Like I said Master Heman, your son left to protect Paradise City from a rampaging giant robot."
"And just where were you?!" Seraphina asked.
"I was going to get him for his training sessions but he was already gone."
Heman cursed under his breath and slammed his hands on the table. Thinking for a moment, he looked Seraphina. The two locked eyes and then nodded as Heman stood up straight and his eyes narrowed. "Get the guns. Our son needs help."

Back at the city.....

Justice Lad was staring down the giant metal suit. The giant raised up one leg and attempted to stomp on him. Justice Lad held up his hands and caught it. He struggled with it as the suit continued to press down on him but he was ultimately able to toss it off of him. The giant fell on it's back and Justice Lad jumped onto it's torso and began punching it, rocking the whole suit. "Damn kid, get off me!" The pilot yelled as the suit's left hand grabbed him. The pilot grinned as the suit got up. Justice Lad struggled to get out of the grip. "Put.......me.....down!"
"Good idea." The pilot said and flung Justice Lad down to the ground. He hit the street hard, breaking it. Justice Lad yelled in pain. "Hey kid, don't quite on me now!" The suit raised a giant foot and stomped on him. Hard and then again. The suit bent over and picked up the child by his cape. "See, this is why kids shouldn't wear costumes." He then turned and tossed Justice Lad several blocks away. Justice Lad hit the ground and bounced a few feet before rolling to a stop. He was crying in pain. As the suit was closing in, several cars pulled up to the crying child. Heman and Seraphina Dragonhowl ran out of the car. "Seraph! SON!" Heman knelt down and held his crying son. "Shhhhh.......shhhhh...mommy and daddy are here now sweety." Seraphina said. "Mommy.......Daddy.......it hurts....it hurts." He cried into his parents arms.

"Sooooo, you're his parents huh? Pretty s-ty parents if you ask me, sending their little boy to die like this."

The Dragonhowl's glared at him. "You did this?" Heman growled. "YOU HURT OUR SON?!" Seraphina asked.
"Yeah, that's right. What are you gonna do about it?"
At that, the entire staff of the mansion, the chefs, maids and butlers walked out of the cars, each of them carrying guns. Seraphina and Heman took out their own. They all took aim at the suit. More specifically, the glass that protected the pilot. "LIGHT HIM UP!" Heman shouted. Every single one of them opened fire on him at the same time. The bullets pinged off of him at first as the pilot laughed and laughed but then he saw it. A small crack in the glass. It soon began spreading and the pilot had the suit cover the glass with it's arms. The Dragonhowl's household emptied their guns and the suit uncovered itself, glaring down menacingly at them. "You.......all of you.......I.Have.Had.ENOUGH!" He pressed red buttons and rockets popped out of the suit's arms. "RUN!" Heman shouted as they ran for it. The suit fired, blowing up their cars. The massive explosion sending the Dragonhowl's flying. They rolled a stop, holding their son. They were alive, but wounded from the explosion. "M-mommy? Daddy?" Seraph asked quietly. No response. They were unconscious. Seraph stood up, trembling.

"Awwwwww, isn't this tragic? Boo, hoo." The pilot laughed. "Look on the bright side kid. You can all die together."

"You....you......you......" Seraph gritted his teeth, he turned to look up at the monster. "You.....hurt.....them."

"Yeah. And now, I'M GONNA KILL THEM!" The pilot roared. "AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO!"

Justice Lad lost it. He was a good kid. A nice boy. His parents had raised him like that. He had never been angry in his life before. So, it was understandable that he utterly snapped here. With a roar of fury unseen in a child his age, Justice Lad knelt down and launched himself towards the metal monstrosity, blurring with speed. "Just try it!" The pilot said and put his arms up to block him. There was a sound of thunder and a shockwave of force as Justice Lad collided with the big metal arms....and broke through them to smash into the suit's torso and slam across the street into an alleyway where it hit the brick wall and broke through it. The pilot was tossed around by the sheer impact and barely had time to figure out where he was, not to mention the fact that the suit was busted, before Justice Lad began whaling on the suit, causing it to shake and break apart. Justice Lad roared with anger at the suit as he flailed angrily on and settled it with one final double punch to the suit, causing the robot to break apart into pieces. The pilot was left trembling int the remnants of the suit's head in terror. "Jesus Christ.......what....WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Justice Lad walked up to the glass and broke into it and grabbed the pilot out. "Just a kid." He then flung the pilot several feet away into a parked car, knocking him out. Justice Lad fell to his knees, exhausted.

Captain Justice Stories

Issue 1 Chapter 3
Justice Lad is born.

Dragonhowl Mansion

8 year old Seraph was flying around the mansion in his 'costume' that he made the other day. It was mostly just small light blue pants, a long sleeved lightblue shirt, a gold cape and mask, but a costume was a costume. He flew around a lot for fun. He then noticed that the TV was on and there was a news report on about a man in a super armor attacking the nearby Paradise City. Seraph thought about what to do. His parents didn't want him fighting, at least, not until he was old enough and had developed his powers more. But.....what was the point of having the powers if he couldn't use them when people needed help. Maybe....maybe just this once he'd go out and fight. He was sure his parents would understand. Besides, the suit didn't look so tough.
Seraph flew to the door, opened it and was gone. A moment later one of the butlers walked in. "Master Seraph, your parents wish to......Master Seraph?" He then saw the news report and the open door. "Oh Dear Me NO!" He then ran to find the Dragonhowl's.

A few minutes later, Seraph arrived at the city and touched down. He looked around for the bad guy. It didn't take him long to see that the bad guy on the news report was a lot bigger then he looked on TV. As in, 60 feet bigger. Seraph stared at the giant suit, wondering just what the heck he was thinking coming here to fight such a monster. Seraph was frozen to the spot in fear. Then, he heard it, the screams of the people in the city. It was unlike anything he had ever heard before. These weren't screams of joy from his parents or laughter or praise or tender loving. No, this was terror. People in the city were screaming for help and there were no superheroes in sight. The police were shooting at the suit uselessly, their bullets bouncing off of the armor. The suit raised up a giant arm and swatted away the police, sending them sailing through the air. One of them landed on Seraph, who crawled out from underneath the officer and he then saw for himself just how badly injured the officer was. He had several broken bones and was coughing up blood. The officer turned to Seraph. "G-g-get out of here kid...."

Seraph trembled before gritting his teeth and hitting his hands on the ground before standing up and yelling at the suit. "HEY! YOU BIG BULLY!"

The suit turned and looked down at him as Seraph walked over and faced the suit in the middle of the city. "You talking to me kid?" The pilot laughed.

"Yeah. YEAH I AM! STOP HURTING PEOPLE! RIGHT! NOW!"

The pilot burst out laughing. "And what if I don't?"

"Then...then.....THEN I'LL BEAT YOU UP!"

The pilot cracked up then roared with laughter at the child. "Oh this is just precious! What's your name anyway kid?"

"I am S......I AM JUSTICE LAD!" Seraph declared.

"So now the so called heroes are sending kids to do their dirty work. Man, that's low even to me. Oh well, time to go splat!" The robot suit attempted to swat him like he did with the police. Seraph swallowed and held up his hands. The giant metal arm collided with Seraph and......in front of millions of people......Seraph stopped it cold before shoving it away. He leaped up to the suit and headbutted it, pushing it back a couple feet.

Seraph landed on the ground, rubbing his head. ".....Wow.....I can do this! I can do it! I CAN BEAT YOU!"

"The hell is this kid?" The pilot asked as the suit righted itself and got ready to fight.

Captain Justice Stories

Issue 1 Chapter 2
Raising Justice

After the space ship was tucked away in the basement and the would-be-super villain carried off in an ambulance (with a story about a meteor being provided) the Dragonhowl's set about naming their son. It was decided that since it was Seraphina that discovered their son, she should name him. She chose the name Seraph. Seraph Dragonhowl.

They raised him as their own but there were more complications then the usual raising of a child. The couple soon discovered their child had superhuman powers. It started with him levitating out of his high chair and from flying through a wall. That was problematic to explain to people. The most incredible part was that, from the baby's giggling, he was unharmed and thought it to be a game. Seraph's next display of power was when he smacked the table and smashed it to pieces. It was  here that the Dragonhowl's realized they were out of their league in raising a superbaby of this level of power so they hired several experts in metahumans. With their help the Dragonhowl's got a handle on their superbaby and over the next 6 years, they split their time in between raising and loving their child and helping him control his powers. By the age of 7, he had control aside from the occasional mishap. He had also grown into a well behaved young man and was receiving a top of the line education.

As superchildren are wont to do of course, Seraph was very interested in the stories of the superheroes of the world and eagerly desired to join their fights.
